According to the announcement by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the project "Technology and Application of Heavy-Duty, High-Efficiency, and Intelligent Stamping Lines" developed by Yangzhou Forging Machine Tool Co., Ltd. (referred to as "Yangduan") has been awarded the Second-Class Jiangsu Provincial Science and Technology Award for its outstanding technological innovation and fruitful industrialization achievements. Its core 6300~35000kN series heavy-duty multi-station presses and production lines have conquered ultra-large and high-precision press technology, meeting the demand for high-strength and precision stamping structural parts in the automotive, home appliance, electrical, and other industries, and filling the gap in high-end forming equipment.
As a key "Industrial Mother Machine", Yangduan has focused on empowering underlying equipment. By enhancing equipment stability and precision, improving processing accuracy, and adopting high-utilization rate design, it ensures consistent product quality in high-end manufacturing scenarios and meets diverse production needs such as flexible production and intelligent manufacturing. Meanwhile, integration with digitalization enables real-time monitoring of production parameters and equipment, further reducing labor dependence and aligning with the core requirements of high-end, intelligent, and green development in the manufacturing industry during the 15th Five-Year Plan period. In response to the development needs of new-quality productive forces, Yangduan, relying on nearly 70 years of professional experience in the press field and supported by funds from Jiangsu Provincial Strategic Development Special Projects and Scientific and Technological Achievement Transformation Projects, has assembled R&D teams to tackle multiple core key technologies of heavy-duty multi-station presses, achieving international leadership in main machine technology.

 

Through this project, Yangduan has further improved its welding and processing capabilities for key components such as machine bodies, large gears, multi-linkages, and transmission shafts, as well as its technical strength in ensuring the rigidity of the entire machine. It has established world-class press technology and process standards covering the entire process from welding, heat treatment, precision machining, inspection to assembly, and deeply applied lean manufacturing and MES intelligent systems to every link of press production, meeting the most stringent mechanical press production requirements in the industry.

Five Core Technological Innovations Building Core Competitiveness

 

The core technological innovations of Yangduan's "Technology and Application of Heavy-Duty, High-Efficiency, and Intelligent Stamping Lines" project include:
  1. Main Transmission Technology Based on Six-Link DriveThe innovatively designed parallel-driven main transmission structure of heavy-duty multi-station presses based on a six-link mechanism not only achieves the deep drawing process requirements of the slider—"rapid descent - uniform stamping forming - rapid return"—which was previously only possible with an eight-link mechanism, but also significantly reduces mechanical complexity and improves motion precision and reliability. Additionally, technologies such as independent overload capacity setting, long-guide high-rigidity sliders, and optimized layout of the main transmission system are adopted, with the linkage center distance reaching nearly 80% of the slider size, significantly enhancing anti-eccentric load capacity.
     
  2. Precision Servo Cushion Technology with Programmable Stroke-Pressure CurveIntegrating key technologies such as single-top-cap multi-cylinder driven cushions, bottom-dead-center locking, automatic pressure/stroke adjustment, top-dead-center hydraulic terminal buffering, and servo drive and control, a precision CNC servo cushion with a programmable stroke-pressure curve has been successfully developed. The tonnage, stroke, locking angle, opening angle, and locking delay time can be programmably controlled to ensure that the cushion air pressure reaches the preset value during the cushion stroke, thereby guaranteeing the quality of efficient and precision stamping forming of high-strength steel automotive structural parts. Its comprehensive performance indicators lead the domestic market.
  3. Comprehensive Precision Guarantee Technology for Heavy-Duty Multi-Station PressesThe precision requirements for the components of the project's products are higher than those of general large-tonnage presses, especially for key parts such as crossbeams, columns, moving tables, eccentric herringbone gears, and adjusting screws. To ensure the processing precision of these key components, high-precision CNC equipment is used for processing, and special tooling, precision machining methods, and dynamic performance testing and inspection are improved through multi-angle and all-round considerations, solving the precision guarantee problem of heavy-duty multi-station presses.
  4. One-Key Adjustment Technology for Full-Process Equipment and Automatic Die Change Technology & System in Production LinesDigital drive and control are adopted for all links requiring adjustment in production equipment when changing products. Meanwhile, technologies such as process databases, process parameter pre-setting, and one-key adjustment are broken through, realizing one-key adjustment of production links including stacking positioning, destacking manipulators, automatic sheet feeding and positioning, press adjustment (slider stroke, balance system, cushion, etc.), and synchronous automatic die change of the entire line of presses, greatly shortening the production line adjustment time.
  5. Intelligent Control and Automation Technology for High-Strength Steel Stamping Production LinesBy researching technologies such as automation of high-strength steel stamping production lines based on multi-station presses, intelligent perception of production line status and coordinated operation control, and fault diagnosis, an intelligent control system for high-strength steel intelligent stamping production lines has been successfully developed. For example, the production cycle of a typical 2500-ton high-strength steel intelligent stamping production line is ≤ 2.4 seconds. The production line can automatically identify molds, call process parameters automatically, monitor production status in real time, and diagnose faults quickly, realizing intelligent control of the production system, remote information consultation, expert diagnosis of faults, and guidance on equipment maintenance and repair.

Diversified Applications Meeting High-End Demands

Based on the project's core 6300~35000kN series heavy-duty presses and production lines, Yangduan has built stamping solutions for different application scenarios such as multi-station, multi-machine line connection, progressive die stamping, and blanking lines, meeting the perfect balance of stamping production efficiency, precision, and automation required by the automotive, home appliance, electrical, and other industries, and achieving remarkable economic and social benefits during the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

Multi-Station Press Production Lines

As a culmination of technologies, Yangduan's multi-station presses integrate multiple processes such as drawing, trimming, and punching into a single press, realizing fully automatic transmission through 3D manipulators. Compared with traditional production lines, their production efficiency is increased by 2-3 times, and the floor space is reduced by more than 1/3. With the core advantages of high quality, high efficiency, and high utilization rate, Yangduan has become an undisputed benchmark brand in the metal forming industry, deeply empowering high-end manufacturing in multiple fields.

Case Study 1Yangduan's world-first 3500T multi-station press stamping line with an 8000mm extra-long workbench not only inherits core performance advantages but also significantly expands the stamping range with its 8-meter super-large workbench, successfully replacing some multi-machine series line models. This innovation directly reduces multiple costs for customers, including investment, operation, maintenance, and labor. Currently applied by top domestic and foreign automotive manufacturers, it has won high praise for being "on par with world-class presses", demonstrating the global competitiveness of Made-in-China intelligence.

 

Case Study 2 Its flagship product, the YT4L-2500 CNC Closed-Type Four-Point Six-Link Multi-Station Press Stamping Line, has not only secured the top sales position in the industry but also been honored with the "Top 10 Products for Quality" award by the China Machine Tool & Tool Builders' Association (CMTBA) in 2025. It stands as the only product in the metal forming machine tool sector to receive this prestigious accolade. These two recognitions validate its absolute leading position in technical strength, market acceptance, and quality stability.

 

Large-Scale Multi-Machine Tandem Stamping LinesYangduan offers multi-process tandem stamping solutions composed of multiple presses, supporting both intermittent and continuous synchronous production. It not only meets the traditional intermittent stamping mode but also provides an energy-saving, high-efficiency, and low-failure-rate continuous mode. Equipped with a fully automatic quick die change system, it significantly reduces die switching time; combined with intelligent centering and positioning technology, it further improves production line utilization rate. As demonstrated by the 7900T large-scale fully automatic flexible high-speed stamping production line delivered to automotive OEMs, it has provided stable and efficient automated production capacity for domestic vehicle manufacturers. For core components such as power battery trays, covers, and liquid cooling plates of new energy vehicles, Yangduan supplies 5000~6500T automated stamping lines, which increase production efficiency by over 50% compared with traditional hydraulic press processes. Meanwhile, these lines meet the higher precision requirements for components and adapt to the energy-saving, green, and high-adaptability demands of the manufacturing industry.
